IAMI – Indian Association for Medical Informatics

. The IAMI membership comprises of scientists and physicians who perceive a need to sensitize theIndian Medical fraternity to the benefits of Information Technology (IT) in health care and facilitate IT adoption inthe areas of patient care. Doctors, nurses, technicians, biomedical engineers, academics, administrators, consultants, healthcare-IT vendors and students constitute the 540 voting members of IAMI.

IAMI also has dynamic regional chapters which are independent units and are locally very active. Key positions in both majorpublic and private sector health care institutions are held by IAMI members and they form the actual decision makers in policy issues relating to IT applications in health care. Indian Journal of Medical Informatics (IJMI) is the official organ of the IAMI. It was recently indexed in Pubmed.
