Learn obscure mental arithmetic. Be the robot.

Roboticize helps you, flashcard-style, to learn to do any of a set of operations in any of a set of bases. (Please note that some of them may simply not be feasible to learn, such as 4-digit hexadecimal exponentiation.)

Currently supports the following operations and bases:

add

subtract

multiply

divide (integers)

power

xor

decimal (1, 2, or 4 digits)

hexadecimal (1, 2, or 8 digits)

base 64 (1, 2, or 4 digits. Please note this is a base of my own design.)

Frankly, I think xor is the easiest to learn (with binary-compatible bases), and likely the most useful setting of the bunch. However, add, subtract, and multiply, in combination with decimal 1 or 2, could be useful for teaching ordinary arithmetic.

Base 64 uses a number-to-symbol map of my own design; I intend to learn how to xor letters and numbers in order to practice some form of mental cryptography. From 0-63, the values of the digits are arranged as follows:

a-z

0-4

(space)

A-Z

5-9

The app may be a little rough around the edges, but I've already used it myself to learn to XOR hexadecimal digits in my head! I recommend mentally converting them into binary, first - makes it a lot easier. (I'll probably add another series of operations to learn conversion into other bases, at some point.) Note that the layout can be a little annoying on tablets; the buttons aren't inconveniently positioned. I'll try to fix that. Oh, also, the options screen is totally generic, and isn't hooked up to anything, yet.

I'll likely add some other bases and operations as time progresses. I gave the app a pretty generic framework, so it's easy to extend it.
