WHO IS PMD?

PAUL MICHAEL DAVIS, SR.(P M D), born in Jacksonville, FL and soon after relocating to the Capital City of Tallahassee, FL. I’m a Florida boy to the bone. When we first arrived in Tallahassee we lived at 2502 Holton Street (Projects) and thereafter moved to Saxon Street. However, the place where I begin to find my identity was in Pine Ridge Estates (P. R. E.).

We moved around a lot. As soon as I began to find my identity in Pine Ridge we moved again. Shortly thereafter, my Mom died when I was 14 years old. This tragedy led me back to Pine Ridge Estates to live my older brother. By the Grace of God, and the support of my family, I managed to stay out of trouble with the law and graduate on time from James S. Rickards high school. In 2004, graduating high school was a really big deal for me and my family. I was the first male in my family to achieve this goal for decades.

After high school, I attended Tallahassee Community College (T.C.C.). I failed to maintain the focus necessary to achieve academically on the collegiate level. Therefore I dropped out. I was lost temporarily. From this failure and disappointment, Paul Michael Davis the young man gave rise to the birth of P. M. D the artist.

Music was always a getaway for me. But to discover that my getaway (music) was inside of me opened my eyes, my world and now my life to endless possibilities. I was heavily influenced by my cousin Ryan Hinson a.k.a. JOKA and my best friend Pierre Allen a.k.a GUTTA. They helped me to develop and refine this new skill called RAP that I had uncovered from within. Writing came easy because I used life’s struggles, hood affairs, pains and sufferings to fuel this new found passion.
