Asiatc Compass

Asiatic Compass is a completely free app which allows you to use your Android device (with location sensor, GPS/GLONASS) as an off road navigation device. Major features of Asiatic Compass are:

 Displays location in Indian Grid System and other major formats.

 Location formats supported by Asiatic Compass are:

 Geographic format/Longitude and Latitude (in either Decimal Degrees, Degree Decimal Minutes or Degree Minutes Decimal Seconds).

 Indian Grid System (with support for all Zones).

 Military Grid Reference System

 Universal Transverse Mercator.

 Datums:

 For Indian Grid System - 'Indian (India, Nepal)' Datum will be used.

 For all other formats (i.e. Geographic, MGRS and UTM) - 'WGS84 (World Geodetic System 1984)' Datum will be used.

 Pan Map View To' option added for locations shared via 'geo' URIs/Android intents.

 The app now registers for directly importing Waypoints files (CSV/GPX/KML/KMZ) on selection from file browsers.

 'Sun Moon Information' also gives the Azimuth and Elevation of Sun and Moon.

 'Bearing from Compass' feature button in 'Projection Tool'. You can align the device towards a location and click the button to get the location bearing for projection.

 Location Sensor is run as a service. Location data is updated continuously even when Asitic Compass goes to the background/device is in standby/locked.

 In while Asitic Compass is running (in foreground or background) a notification is shown. The notification can be tapped to return to Asitic Compass.

 Trip Computer.

 Quick Keys'. 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons can be configured for various actions. Also, the 'Search' button (on devices with it) will open the Navigation Menu.

 'Sky View' in 'Satellites Information'.

 Management of A-GPS Data. Asiatic Compass can be configured to request download of A-GPS Data after specified time (under 'Settings > Sensors > A-GPS Download'). Also, A-GPS Data can be manually cleared and manually requested to be downloaded (under 'Tools > Satellites Information > Options Menu').

 Compass Error value can be set for correction of Magnetic Compass reading under 'Settings > Sensors'.

 The alerts for 'Location Sensor Disabled' and 'Calibrate Compass' can be disabled under 'Settings > Sensors'.

 While moving an arrow indicating relative direction of each Waypoints/Recent Destinations is shown in the list generated by 'Navigation > To Waypoint' and 'Navigation > To Recent Destination'.

 You can click 'Join Asiatic Compass Mailing List' to send e-mail to subscribe to the mailing list.

 Projection from/to locations are saved for a session. So from Waypoints page you can select two different Waypoints to Project From/To.

 While specifying Waypoints you can directly replace the Waypoint's location/altitude with current location/altitude.

 Map image support is stable. Only one map image as relevant to the Map View is shown. Also, Map Images settings can be exported/imported.

 Alternate file import option for Waypoints if file manager not available/incompatible. Optionally, can also be used directly.

 Graceful handling of 'Force close' i.e. app crash with generation of error report which can be sent to the developer.

 Fully configurable Arrival Alert.

 Option for sending feedback to the app author.

 Option to recommend the app to someone.

 Support for metric, nautical/aeronautical, statute units for altitude, distance and speed.

 Support for a primary and a secondary location format

 Format conversion feature.

 Option to include Google Map link while sharing location

 Support for sharing location.

 Direct opening of webpage from app.

 Compass calibration automatically.
