iJoints is a pocket interactive anatomy atlas of the major joints.•The images have been reconstructed from the Visible Human Project® dataset.•The images can be flipped horizontally and the labels can be hidden in order to see the underlying anatomy more clearly.•Double tap or use zoom gesture to zoom in and out.•The labels are divided into 4 categories: muscle, bone, blood, and other which includes nerves and organs.•The goal for this joint anatomy atlas was to teach anatomy in a simple way and to act as a reference when viewing an MRI or CT.Learning is presented dynamically. The ipod/ iphone interface makes learning interesting and fun. The touch screen adds the interactivity that can't be found in a static textbook. This application is meant as a teaching tool.
