Pendulum Cricket is an automated scoring method used to determine who's leading a Test Match at any stage of the 5-day game; after each run, wicket, session, innings or day. Pendulum points are awarded to both Test teams for either runs scored and / or wickets taken. Top order wickets are worth more Pendulum points than lower order batsmen.

Experienced commentators and former players who have followed and enjoyed the purist's game for many years are still unable to dogmatically know who's winning after each session, innings or day; and make their proclamations based upon assumption. Pendulum Cricket has been created by Capetonian Alistair Mc Donald. He has developed Pendulum Cricket over a number of years through many Test Match case scenarios. Part of his inspiration came after South Africa's dramatic loss to Australia in Test Match #1780, the 3rd Test at SCG in January 2006, after Protea Captain Graeme Smith declared both their innings and still lost the Test to Australia by 8 wickets.
