This has easily become one of the most widely used apps amongs Blackberry and Anroid users in South Africa. Never be left without knowing when, what and for how long loadshedding affects your day-to-day life.

Whether you use it as an informational tool or a planning tool, this App uses as little data as possible to conserve that expensive data you have on your phone. Other Apps utilise a web backend, this app is a full local solution and will work even when you have run out of airtime/data.

This app will help you keep up to date with the latest information regarding load shedding as it is communicated from ESKOM.

Countless suburbs have been added to this app that have been omitted from the various MUNICIPALITIES throughout South Africa.

We currently feature the following within this app:

-A comprehensive current load shedding status that includes the current status of load shedding, the current national grid utilisation as well as the latest tweets from ESKOM

-The ability to choose which Twitter feed to follow that the app displays (@ESKOM_SA or @ESKOM_MediaDesk)

-A built-in flashlight to help find your way around when you're in the dark (Look for the orange light bulb on the action bar)

-A daily notification of either the loadshedding probability or when loadshedding has started (This can also be disabled if you wish)

-An OFFLINE complete listing of all the estimated currently affected areas within all of South Africa

-An OFFLINE loadshedding planner for the day (Ekurhuleni and Tshwane only atthis point in time)

This app is currently undergoing tireless active development and is updated regularly. Please ensure that you have the latest and most up to date version in order to have the latest features at your fingertips, as we significantly change the way this app functions with every update.

Typically, the larger features are available for download on a Monday morning.

We have just released an update that will allow you to see what slots your specific area/suburb will be experiencing for the day. Please note that ONLY Tshwane and Ekurhuleni are supported at this time. Updates will add support for additional areas going forward. Please send us an email should you wish your area to be supported so that we can expedite its development!

Whilst every effort is made to be as accurate as possible, we are dependent on ESKOM as well as the various municipalities to convey the correct and current load shedding information. As such, our information will only be as accurate as ESKOM makes publicly available.
