You might know my mighty cousin, the Neapolitan Mastiff. Both of us hail from brave combat experience with the Roman Empire. I was later introduced to England by Phoenician traders and my soon visits became permanent. My short, powerful stoutness and wide toothy smile was perfect for my original pastime: Bull Baiting. Just because I'm an English gent, doesn't mean my bark isn't still respected. Being a former bull baiter still gives me a longing for excitement and hearty sport. I regularly find plenty of demand for my chasing and chewing skills in law enforcement, the army and with security.

Still, everyone loves my affectionate calm demeanor. I am welcome everywhere, just like my other cousin -- the equally handsome and compact English Pug. My loyalty to the household is second only to my love for being a playmate for children. I am dignity, loyalty, duty and affection all rolled into a highly concentrated package of pure dog fun.
