Founded by ultrarunner, Eric Steele, Epic Ultras is an ultra event management company dedicated to providing runners experiences of a lifetime.Epic Ultras founder, Eric Steele, studied at the feet of ultrarunning legends, Scott Demaree, David Horton, Scott Weber, Theresa Daus-Weber and Marshall Ulrich (amongst others) since he first began competing in ultramarathons over 18 years ago. In 1995 Eric founded the Kansas Ultrarunners' Society, which has hosted multiple annual ultra-events in Kansas since it's inception and has attracted runners from the majority of all 50 states and several countries abroad. Now, after starting and serving as RD for Kansas' Oldest Trail Ultra, the Flatrock 50K, for all of it's 18 years and competing in over 50 ultras himself, including the Leadville Trail 100 & Badwater to Mt. Whitney Summit, his vision of creating momentous and unforgettable ultra-events has taken shape with the formation of Epic Ultras.Epic Ultras is an organization firmly committed to raising the bar on ultrarunning events by staging the highest quality ultra races available. The singular goal of Epic Ultras is to create truly memorable life experiences filled with challenges, champions and celebration, while spontaneously fostering a strengthened fellowship amongst the regional and international ultrarunning community.
