How does the recommendation work?

We build an initial taste profile using the movie genres of interest you declare when you sign up for DailyMovies. Your taste profile evolves as you rate movies on the application. Based on your taste profile and the profile of other users that have similar tastes as you, we recommend movies that we think you will enjoy watching. Using the DailyMovies app you can get daily and instant movie recommendations through the "Today's Movies For You" and "Surprise Me" features respectively.

You can rate a movie through the options displayed when you press-and-hold a movie item on the list. Alternatively, you can rate a movie through the star icon that is available on a detailed movie info screen.
